Frequently asked questions
Help for saving TikTok videos with TikSaver — organized by topic. TikSaver is not affiliated with TikTok.
General downloading
How do I download a TikTok video with TikSaver?
Copy the video link from TikTok (Share → Copy link), paste it into the box on TikSaver, click Download Video, then save the MP4 when your browser prompts you.
Do I need a TikTok account?
No. You only need a public TikTok URL. TikSaver never asks for your TikTok password.
Does TikSaver remove the watermark?
Yes for supported public videos — TikSaver fetches the clean stream used before TikTok burns the moving username watermark into saves.
iPhone
Why does Safari play the video instead of saving it?
Long-press the download control and choose Download Linked File, then find the file under Files → Downloads.
Can I save to Photos?
Yes — after downloading, use the Share sheet and pick Save to Photos.
Android
Where is my file on Android?
Chrome saves to Downloads by default. Open Files or your manufacturer file manager and sort by date.
Chrome says download blocked — what now?
Tap the download icon in the address bar and allow downloads from this site.
PC (Windows & Mac)
Where does the MP4 go on a computer?
Browsers default to the Downloads folder. Change the path in browser settings if you prefer another drive.
Can I batch download on PC?
Yes — use Batch mode on TikSaver, then download each result or use Download All.
MP4 format
What format does TikSaver output?
MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio — the same style of file TikTok streams to apps.
Can I edit the MP4 in Premiere or CapCut?
Yes — MP4 is the standard interchange format for editors.
MP3 / audio
Does TikSaver download MP3 directly?
No — TikSaver downloads MP4 first. Convert to MP3 locally with VLC, FFmpeg, or another tool you trust.
Can I use the audio in my podcast?
Only if you have rights to the underlying composition and recording. TikTok popularity does not equal a license.
Batch downloads
How does batch mode queue URLs?
Each link resolves independently. Failed items show an error without blocking the rest.
Is there a recommended batch size?
Roughly 10–20 URLs per run keeps browsers responsive on average Wi-Fi.
Troubleshooting
My TikTok link is not working — what should I check?
Confirm the post is public, the URL includes tiktok.com or vm.tiktok.com, and you copied from Share → Copy link. Remove extra tracking parameters by re-copying.
Video unavailable or private
Deleted, private, friends-only, or region-blocked videos cannot be fetched. Open the link in an incognito window to verify it plays without logging in.
Download button never appears
Wait for the processing step to finish. Disable aggressive ad blockers for this domain and try again.
Processing feels slow
Large files and weak networks increase wait time. Use Wi-Fi and smaller batches.
Browser blocked the file
Use the browser’s download permission UI (Chrome Keep, Safari Downloads list, Firefox doorhanger) to allow the MP4.
